Some People Get Carried Away By Black

Written by man on Thursday, March 11th, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

There is something darkly attractive about black that cannot be denied. Who is not seduced by the mystery and magic of black? Black is mysterious because it is the void of impenetrable space. It is associated with evil because it is frightening by nature. As a fashion statement, it is also sometimes overused.

Some of the most well-known devotees of black are bikers. From the top of his head, where he wears a black helmet, to the black soles of his boots, a biker wears black. He sits astride a black motorcycle with chrome detailing being the only hint of contrast in his life.

Somewhat incongruously, fashion designers love to wear all black, too. In their case, it is not to inspire fear, but to inspire admiration. Black, like a black limousine, is the color of class and sophistication. Used creatively and tastefully, it is the ultimate fashion statement. The fashion designer, with his expensive black sport watch with its shiny chrome face displayed boldly on his wrist, is showing the world that he has style.

Goths, on the other hand, take ebony way too far. Instead of using it just for their clothing and maybe a few ornaments, everything they have has got to be black. It becomes almost farcical, especially when they dress their baby in black and even decorate its room with black baby furniture! Who are they trying to kid? Are they making a statement? If so, it’s lost on the rest of us, who instead of feeling frightened, just smile and shake our heads!

It’s hard to understand why anybody would want to make their whole life black. It is, after all, symbolic of darkness and death. Related words include ‘funereal, ‘ ‘pessimistic’ and ’somber.’ On the opposite end of the spectrum is white. Look in a thesaurus and you will see words like ‘hope’ and ‘optimistic’ are related to white.

Between black and white is the entire world of brilliant color. Color is produced when light is refracted. Pure white light is thus symbolic of life itself and the colors produced from light with everything that moves.

Of course, many people get carried away with white, too. They wear all white because of its purity. Given the nature of life, those who avoid color one way or the other are missing out on much that life has to offer! Those who choose all white are denying life in a similar way to those who choose its opposite. We’re a mixture of black and white and all the colors in between. Why get hung up on just one when there are so many to choose from?

Motorcyle Helmets For Sale - Get The Right One.

Written by man on Wednesday, March 10th, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

The color, the cost, and the design are obviously important when choosing a motorcycle helmet, consider the protection the helmet offers, and how it fits as more important. The most protection you can get is from a full face helmet. It usually has a movable face shield that protects the eyes when it is closed. This gives added protection and offers extra comfort for the cyclist.

A three quarter face helmet is made in the same way as a full face, but without the face protection guard. If you are going to use you should always try and wear glasses or goggles to protect from any flying stones or other flying objects.

Regular glasses, whether shaded or not, are definitely not enough. So do not use.

Another helmet is the shorty or also known as half helmet, this does not offer a lot of protection. These do not come highly recommended for the serious rider.

There is a huge variety of motorcycle helmets for sale, at prices to suit all pockets.

A quick look or in your local motorcycle shop will give you a good idea. Helmets often come in the same colors as the specific bike models.

The days of weighty, big helmets are truly gone. They’re made of lightweight, modern materials and are improved each year. Helmets are being produced that are more cost effective, stronger and yet still comfortable to wear.

So you can be fashionable in a motorcycle helmet. But you must also be safe and comfortable in it. Drive defensively. Imagine others on the road do not see you. Take care and enjoy your driving.

Drive defensively at all times. Be prepared to meet some fools on the road-Be prepared for bad drivers and foolish driving.

The Great IPAQ GPS

Written by man on Saturday, March 6th, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

iPAQ GPS devices and mapping software are widely used for quality navigation in crowded urban areas or in the highway networks. With an iPAQ GPS, the coordinates are easy to get and follow, and traveling becomes really stress free. In case you need photo viewing, iPAQ has an application that allows the addition of coordinates to photos. The map will thus display the photos according to the geographic coordinates. The iPAQ technology makes it possible for users to create personal mapping systems according to personal and business needs. The device comes with marketing tools, access to web portals and the possibility to transfer land and property data for improved business productivity.

You can save time and money by taking visual and vocal guidance for the shortest routes available. Produced by HP, the iPAQ navigation system has a high range of compatibility with many pocket PC models. The most advantages are a bit pricey as not everyone can afford to pay $330 for the iPAQ GPS system, regardless of the technological superiority. Complete maps of the US and Canada are provided together with a Bluetooth receiver. iPAQ owners will be pleased with the travel quality that this kit brings.

Besides the good parts, there are downsides to the iPAQ GPS too, and you’ll find them explained in lots of online reviews. The receiver makes a good match with the dashboard, but some critics say it looks bulky. The more secure alternative is the mounting of the iPAQ GPS on the air vent. It comes with a built-in Bluetooth technology that makes the wireless connection and the data transfer possible, and the map installation upload can be performed in different radius segments. The navigation possibilities are by intersection, by specific address, by contact list or by favorite destinations.

With iPAQ GPS, you can choose the device features; thus, you can avoid highways and use alternative roads or you can select the shortest route to the destination. The software used on iPAQ GPS is less comprehensive than that of similar competitive products, but the real-time information and the turn-by-turn directions are really great. Thus, you can learn about the estimated time of arrival, the remaining distance and also learn about hotels, ATMs, gas stations and restaurants. The accuracy of the device is very high and even if you miss a turn, the device performs a rerouting to get you back on the right track.

Tires on motorcycles, like any vehicle, play a vital role in the performance, handling plus safety of the bike. Many times we tend to ignore the essential maintenance required to keep the tires safe. With motorcycles, there are only 2 little contact patches for the rider to rely on, so it’s extremely important to keep the tires in great condition.

Any tire, regardless of how well made, may fail in use as a result of punctures, impact harm, improper inflation, overloading, or different conditions resulting from use or misuse. Tire failure may create a risk of property harm, serious personal injury or death. To scale back the risk of tire failure, we strongly recommend you read plus follow all safety information contained in the brochure.

It is suggested that riders do a periodic inspection of their tires plus have any imbedded objects removed by a professional service person.  Numerous tire failures are preceded by vibration, bumps, bulges or irregular wear. If a vibration occurs when riding your motorbike, otherwise you notice a bump, bulge or irregular erosion, have your tires plus motorcycle evaluated by a professional service person.

It is not often that a properly maintained tire can “blow out” while you are riding. More commonly if air is lost, it’ll be gradual. If you do experience a blow out or sudden tire failure, the following information ought to be helpful: When the failure occurs, slowly decrease the amount of throttle, hold the handlebars firmly, and steer to keep position. Once the motorcycle has slowed plus is totally under control, apply the brakes gently. Gradually pull over to the shoulder plus come to a stop. Purchase discount motorcycle tires here.

Keep your tires correctly inflated. A tire that is terribly under-inflated generates a lot of warmth which can lead to a blow out. Tires which run too hot additionally wear out more quickly. The a good amount of common motorcycle breakdown is for tire damage.

Purchase a pencil-type tire gauge and use it regularly until you instinctively ‘are familiar with’ what your tires feel like properly inflated. Use of the gauge and visual inspections must become second nature.

Buying Used Motorcycles: What Should Consider

Written by man on Saturday, February 20th, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

buying motor bike video

The engine roars, the metal shines, and thepressure is on to buy. The bike looks great and it seems like a reasonable deal but have you done your homework?

TOO MANY CHOICES!
The excitement of buying a new or ‘new’ used motorcycle can be a rush of adrenalin. Make sure you have a clear idea of what you need in a bike so that you can make a decision you will be happy with once you’ve started cruising around. Do you need two seats, a cargo trailer or are these just on your wish list? Are you willing to compromise on certain aspects of the bike and not others? Have you thought of all the costs associated with owning a bike, have you talked with a fellow bike owner to get a realistic idea of the average upkeep cost? All this will let you make an informed decision.

KNOW YOUR BIKES
When buying a bike there are two options - use a dealer or buyprivately . Both sides have points for and against. It’s really a personal choice but make sure you consider the following: Dealerships can be great in terms of helping you with maintenance andwarranty coverage. They can work out pricing plans and help you get the exact bike you want - as long as you are willing to pay top dollar. Buying privately might take some time in terms of finding the bike you want but it could be worth the wait in terms of the great deal you could make. Decide for yourself which avenue you want to explore, and beware of the pros and cons of each so you can better navigate them.

BE THOROUGH WITH THE DOCUMENTS
The best thing is to schedule a meeting with the person selling the bike to go over all the documents and policies for buying or selling a vehicle in your country. If the meeting goes well and you are satisfied with the paperwork then take the extra precaution of having a vehicle check done. If all that works out then you can sign on the dotted line with confidence.

GO SEE IT
The best place to view a used bike is at the seller’s home. Don’t arrange to view at night, you want to be able to go over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb in proper daylight. A smart option for anyone not mechanically savvy is to bring a trusted friend with a solid background in mechanics. Does the bike look in desperate need of a tune up, will it last, is it worth the money being spent. A scam to watch out for is ‘clocking’, make sure the mileage is legitimate and not tampered with. Make sure the VIN number is correct on all documents and that it has not been altered on the bike. Trial runs of the bike should be for at least 30 minutes so that you can have a good sense of how it rides. Better safe than sorry so make sure you do a thorough check when inspecting your potential purchase.

TRUST YOUR INSTINCT
There is always another bike to buy so please follow your instincts. If something doesn’t seem on the level then scrap the deal and start fresh with a new seller.

The Yamaha XJ Series Should Be Your Partner On The Road!

Written by man on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

The Yamaha XJ series was a great bike for a long time, produced from 1981 until 1991 and can still be seen in mass numbers any where in Asia. It was built as a lightweight commuter but offered a comfortable ride and was easy to work on for any body who. Now a days the bike is a cheap way to get around town or as a to and from work commuter. You can easily pick one up for under a thousand dollars and for a couple hundred more have yourself an awesome bike. One of the great things about this bike is the ability to upgrade and add features. Handlebars, pegs and the gas tank are only a couple of examples of cheap easy to install upgrades.

The Yamaha XJ 650 Service Manual comes with a 653cc DOHC four cylinder engine that has 73hp @ 9000 rpm and a top speed of 122mph /193km/h. It has a reasonable 1/4 Mile: 12.7 seconds @ 103.68 mph and 0-60mph in 4.8sec. The fuel mileage is not bad either getting 48 mpg. Today if you are looking to pick one up you should not pay more than two thousand dollars and that is if it has custom upgrades. Otherwise you do not need to pay more then a thousand dollars for one. That makes it great for any one looking for a bike to fix up in their garage and after you are done you will not be disappointed with it.

The Yamaha XJ 700 Manual is also very impressive considering its age. The 700 offers a little more power with a 693cc air–cooled fore cylinder fore stroke engine. It compares well with any 600cc bike that is out on today’s market and can be purchased for the same or near same price as the six hundred XJ. If you’re used to a bigger bike the XJ seven hundred gives you a close comparison in ride. With its thirty-inch seat height and sixty inch wheelbase you won’t be sore after doing a fore hundred-mile ride. One of the things you will undoubtedly have to purchase first thing is a manual. These bikes were not meant to last thirty years, but incredibly they have and during that time it has won over owners.

The Chiltons Yamaha XJ 900 Manual offers a unique opportunity for any one looking to restore or fix up an old bike. It can be purchased for roughly the same amount as the Yamaha XJ 650cc. It can be a little bit more complicated to work on but a good set of tools and a good manual will get you through any problems you mite run into. The first production year was 1983 but it was quickly redesigned the following year adding roughly 50cc and a new more comfortable handle bar design. Since than it has built a reputation for being very reliable and although it is a little powerless in the lower RPMs it gives the rider a fun ride.

With the world in economic turmoil the need for a gas efficient bike or car has grown considerably. The Yamaha XJ series offers an interesting option to any body dealing with financial turmoil. For fewer than two thousand dollars anyone is capable of purchasing and repairing to working order one of these classic machines. There are a couple of things that need to be checked out or replaced rite away after you buy one, the stock breaking offers barely road worthy stopping and is easily upgraded to a stainless steal break system. Also a tune up and air filter change will improve the bike tremendously. Good luck and have working on and riding this classic machine with a motorcycle repair manual.

A Necessity - Motorcycle Biker Gear

Written by author on Sunday, February 7th, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

Here are some common sense tips for what to wear while you are out tearing it up on your brand new motorbike.

First off, and I know this is old but it always bears repeating, get a helmet. Which would you rather have to do; hammer a few well earned dents out of your bike, or have the doctor hammer a few dents out of your skull? Besides, with all the technological advances in helmet engineering, you might actually look pretty cool with one on your noggin. Oh yeah, and make sure it fits snugly on your head.

Next, you will want to invest in clothing that will protect the rest of your body. With motorcycling, falling is inevitable. Get a jacket, pants, boots and gloves that will be sturdy enough to take a beating, but will still allow your body to stay cool and breathe well. It can get a little toasty under all that leather. Keep in mind also that you do not want your clothing to inhibit the operation of your machine, so make sure that the stuff you get fits well. Oh yeah, and fit is more important than style, ok?

Protective gear has come a long way, offering benefits like waterproofing, special kevlar composites and padding to protect those, um…sensitive areas. Be willing to invest in a quality set of protective gear and you won’t regret the extra money spent. Next we need to talk about boots.

Boots come in an amazingly broad variety, and they are an absolute must for riding a motorcycle. Forget about wearing anything else unless you really aren’t concerned about protecting your feet, ankles, and lower calf. Remember that comfort and fit are important, just as much as the new, fancy kevlar lining and neat zippers and buckles are. The boots should be fairly stiff, but only pro racers need boots that are completely rigid.

There are plenty of other handy tools and add ons that you can get for your bike. Be sensible and choose the ones that would be best for the kind of riding that you will be doing. Do your homework and go for quality. But ride safely on your motorcycle, or else you might have to bring your motorcycle in an automotive shop for repairs, where you will also see those SUV’s on car lifts or auto lifts.

After you have fitted yourself with the latest in motorcycle apparel, including a more than just decent pair of boots, the next thing to equip yourself with is a riding buddy. Never go riding alone, because even if you have the fancy global positioning instrumentation installed, with the emergency radio built into your well fitting helmet, it will be kind of hard to operate any of that stuff if your neck is broken and you can’t move or speak. Riding buddy…if you don’t have one, get one!

Pocket Bike Customisation

Written by man on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010 in Motorcycle Boots.

So you just purchased your first pocket bike, or perhaps you are upgrading for the first time. Even though it is now a cool bike, imagine your embarrassment when you show it to friends and find out that you and your friends all have the same bike. This might dampen you enthusiasm, but fortunately this is only a passing setback. A big benefit of owning a pocket bike is that customising them yourself is easy! You can change the design of your pocket bike, give it an upgrade, and change it into a cool custom-made pocket bike that you can show off with pride. You’ll find everything you need at a pocket bike chop shop.

Transform an ordinary looking pocket bike into a cool custom pocket rocket! If you’re at a loss as to where to find the parts you need, go to one of the many mini bike forums on the net. In these online communities you’ll meet members who will point you in the right direction for the best prices and also where not to purchase your parts!

Consider also paying a visit to a local dealer. Until recently dealers didn’t stock parts for pocket bikes, but as the popularity of customising pocket bikes has increased tremendously in the past few years, many of dealers have now started to carry parts to keep up with the craze. Together with individual parts, a lot of chop shops now also sell kits for enhancing the performance, with comprehensive instructions. For inexperienced pocket bike mechanics, these will guide you through the process.

Some Parts to Upgrade

Fairings are parts that aren’t really necessary, but do make your bike look really good!  These are the plastic covers that surround the frame of your pocket bike, and give it a “super bike” type of look.  There is very little you can do to alter their appearance, but you can paint them and add some decals to make them look unique.

If you are racing, the tires can make a huge difference as a result this is absolutely one of the main pocket bike parts you need to consider upgrading.  Nearly all pocket bikes are available with generally poor quality tires as a result an upgrading them is important.

Conclusion

You don’t have to have a bike that’s the same as everyone else. Just ensure your bike looks as cool as it runs. Between chop shops and the Internet, you have lots of accessories to pick from to customise and make your pocket bike unique. This includes chrome wheels, trunks, headlights, horns, saddlebags and saddles, tanks and tank pouches, kits of decals and accessory designs, etc. if you have seen transformed pocket bikes, you will know how much this can enhance their looks!
